SO YOU WANNA MAEK KVASS Ok. Cool. But be warned, shit take's liek a whole fucking day. But this will be for a small batch (enough for 4 cups), so adjust the amount of stuff based on how much you want. What you need: - Water, obviously. 4 cups of it. - 2 slices of dark rye bread (can be any kind, but lighter breads will result in lighter color... I think). - 1/8th teaspoon of active dry yeast (or baker's/brewer's yeast). - 2 tablespoons of sugar (it won't be that sweet, trust me). STEPS: 1. Boil the water in a pot. 2. Toast the bread slices on the highest setting (you can do this while you're waiting for the water to boil). 3. Take the pot off the stove and soak the bread in there for about 3-4 hours. 4. Stir in the sugar and yeast and transfer to a container (I use a jar, but you can use a thermos or whatever). 5. Seal the container with plastic wrap, fitting it loosely to let it breathe. Let it sit for 12-24 hours. 6. Taste check after 12 hours passed; if it's good, then it's good. If not, go back up to your room to jerk off until the full 24 hours are up. 7. Store in the fridge to cool it. YOU'RE DONE! ENJOY! Or maybe you did it wrong, and you ended up drinking gross brown bread water. LOL.
